Day 45 of 60 · Living it out

Pray For A Stranger

Open your Bible and read Acts 3:1-10

“But Peter said, "I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!"”

Acts 3:6 · ESV

Peter had no money, no title anybody respected and no plan for the day. What he had was the presence of God on him, and he gave away what he had.

You have the same Spirit living in you. That is not a figure of speech. The One who raised Jesus from the dead has taken up residence in you, and He does not sit dormant until you feel qualified.

Here is how simple it can be. Somebody mentions something hard. You say, can I pray for you about that right now? Most people say yes. Then keep it short. Thirty seconds, plain words, in Jesus name, and you are done. You do not have to close your eyes or make it a scene.

Yes it will feel awkward the first time. Do it awkward. Awkward obedience beats smooth silence every time!

Do this today

Ask one person today if you can pray for them, then pray right there out loud in thirty seconds.

Say this out loud

“What I have, I give. The Spirit who raised Jesus lives in me and I am not too new for this.”
