Open your Bible and read John 1:35-51
“Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."”
John 1:46 · ESVPhilip had a skeptic in front of him. He did not debate. He did not load up a stack of arguments. He said three words. Come and see.
Most people are not going to be argued into the kingdom. They will be brought. Somebody has to say sit at my table, ride with me Sunday, come to this thing with me, meet these people. An invitation carries something information never will, because an invitation says there is room for you here.
Informing keeps you at a safe distance. Inviting costs you something. It risks a no, and it puts your actual life in view.
Who is one person you would want in the room with you? Do not wait until you have all the answers, because Philip did not have them either. He just knew where Jesus was and brought his friend to Him. You can do that today.
Do this today
Invite one person to something this week: church, your table, or a real conversation. Send the message today.
Say this out loud
“I do not have to win arguments. I get to say come and see, and let Jesus do the rest.”
