Day 20 of 60 · The Holy Spirit

Conviction Is Not Shame

Open your Bible and read 2 Corinthians 7:8-11

“For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.”

2 Corinthians 7:10 · ESV

You are going to blow it. Probably this month. Here is how to tell who is talking to you when you do. The Holy Spirit is specific. He names one thing, He names it kindly, and He points you straight to the cross where it is already handled. You feel drawn toward God, not away. That is godly grief, and it leaves no regret behind it.

Shame is different. It is vague and it goes after your identity instead of your behavior. You are worthless. You will always be like this. Do not bother praying tonight. That voice is not from God, and you owe it nothing.

Repentance is simply agreeing with God and turning around. It takes about ten seconds and it does not require groveling. You are still righteous in Christ while you do it.

Run TOWARD Him when you fall. Every time.

Do this today

If something is on your conscience today, tell God plainly, thank Him for the blood, and move on.

Say this out loud

“When I fall I run to God, not from Him. His kindness leads me to repentance.”
