Open your Bible and read Ephesians 2:4-10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 · ESVThere is a quiet question most people carry and rarely say out loud. Is any of this going anywhere, or am I just filling days?
Read the order in that verse carefully, because it is easy to get backwards. The good works do not produce the standing. The standing comes first, as a gift, and the works follow as what you were made for. Even the works are described as prepared ahead of time, waiting on you like a path already laid.
Workmanship is an artist's word. It is used of something crafted with care, not stamped out.
This is not a promise of a big platform or an impressive life. For most people it looks like being placed exactly where somebody needed you. But it does mean your existence is not an accident and your years are not filler. What would you do if you knew you were made on purpose?
