Open your Bible and read Ephesians 1:15-23
“having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,”
Ephesians 1:18 · ESVSome mornings you sit down to pray and you have nothing. No words come. It feels like talking to someone through a closed door.
On those mornings, stop trying to invent something and pray what He already said. Open the Word, find a prayer in it, and pray it back to Him out loud. Put your own name in it. Paul prayed that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened, that you would know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glory. Pray that over yourself. You are not begging for something He is reluctant to give. You are agreeing with what He already decided about you.
Scripture prayed out loud does something to your own ears. It moves your prayer life off your feelings and onto His word, which never changes when your mood does.
Try it before the feeling comes. The feeling usually shows up on the way.

Open Ephesians 1:17-19, put your own name in it, and pray it out loud over yourself.
