Open your Bible and read Ephesians 1:3-14
“even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.”
Ephesians 1:4 · ESVBefore the first star burned, before there was an earth to stand on, God looked ahead and chose you. Not the improved version of you. You.
And notice what He chose you to be. Holy. Blameless. Those are not goals He hung over your head to chase for the rest of your life. They are what He decided you would be in Christ, and He said it before you existed to disappoint anyone.
Most people spend years handing God the dirty rags of their own self righteousness, hoping this week of good behavior finally counts for something. Put the rags down. He never wanted them. He wants you close.
Identity always comes before behavior. When you know you are holy in His sight, holy living stops being a performance and starts being who you actually are.
Do this today
Write Ephesians 1:4 on a piece of paper and put it where you will see it in the morning.
Say this out loud
“God chose me before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him.”
