Open your Bible and read Mark 10:13-16
“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:14 · ESVThe disciples were running crowd control. Important man, limited time, so they pushed the kids back. It was reasonable. He was indignant with them for it.
Then he says the kingdom belongs to people like that. Not because children are innocent, anyone who has raised one knows better. Because a child brings nothing. No credentials, no theology, no track record. They just come.
Now an honest caution. The phrase childlike faith has been used to shut down hard questions, as if wondering makes you disloyal. That is a misuse of this text. He never once uses it that way. He answers questions all day long and reserves his sharp words for people who are performing.
Whatever you bring to this, it does not need to be impressive. It just needs to be actually yours.
Do this today
Ask, out loud or in writing, the question you were once told was too basic to ask.
An honest thing to say to God
“I am allowed to come with nothing but questions.”
