Open your Bible and read Mark 1:40-45
“Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, I will; be clean.”
Mark 1:41 · ESVA man with leprosy was required by law to keep his distance and announce himself as unclean so nobody stumbled into contact with him. Depending on how long he had been sick, this man may have gone years without a human hand on his skin.
Jesus could have healed him from where he stood. He does it constantly elsewhere, sometimes from another town entirely. Here he reaches out and touches him first.
Under that law, touching should have made Jesus unclean. It runs the other way instead. Whatever he carries is stronger than what the man carries.
You can argue about whether the healing happened, and plenty of thoughtful people do. What is harder to argue with is the instinct on display. Faced with the one person in the whole crowd that everyone else was backing away from, his hand went out first.

Do one small physical kindness today for somebody other people tend to avoid.
