Day 11 of 60 · Your honest questions

What About Other Religions

Open your Bible and read Acts 4:5-12

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12 · ESV

That verse offends modern ears, and it should be looked at rather than skipped.

First, an honest observation. The view that all religions lead to the same place is itself an exclusive claim, and it contradicts what most of those religions actually teach about themselves. It is not the neutral position. There is no neutral position available here.

Second, sincerity does not make a thing true. You can believe with your whole heart that a bridge is safe and still fall. And third, Christians disagree, sharply, about what happens to people who never heard any of this. If someone tells you the answer is simple, they are speaking past a very old argument.

What is worth noticing is the shape of the claim. It is not narrow about who may come. It is narrow about who is doing the saving. Those are different things.

Do this today

Ask yourself honestly whether you object because it seems false or because it seems rude.

An honest thing to say to God

“If only one thing is actually true, that is the one I want.”
