Open your Bible and read Psalm 62
“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah”
Psalm 62:8 · ESVGod is not looking for polished prayers. He is looking for an honest one. Pour out your heart is not gentle language. It means turn the whole container over. The fear you have not admitted. The anger you think a Christian is not allowed to feel. The disappointment that has been sitting in your chest for years.
Read the Psalms and you will find men shouting at God, questioning Him, telling Him they are exhausted. He put those prayers in the Bible on purpose. He would rather have your raw truth than your best religious voice.
He already knows what is in there anyway. Saying it out loud is not information for Him, it is release for you.
He is a refuge, which means He is the safe place, not the place you have to be safe for.
Do this today
Tell God out loud the one thing you have been avoiding telling Him.
Say this out loud
“I can pour out my heart to God. He is my refuge and I do not have to pretend with Him.”
