Open your Bible and read Hebrews 4:11-13
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 · ESVSooner or later you will read something in Scripture that steps on your toes. Do not skip that verse. That is the one doing surgery.
A sword in the hands of a surgeon is not an attack. God is not cutting to hurt you, He is cutting to remove what is hurting you. The motives you did not know you had. The grudge you have been protecting. The area where you say you trust Him and clearly do not yet.
Here is the safety in it. You are already righteous, already accepted, already His. Nothing the Word exposes can change your standing with God. That is exactly why you can afford to let it be honest with you. Read it as someone loved, not someone on trial.
What has He been putting His finger on lately? Say yes to Him about it today.
Do this today
Tell God one area you know He has been putting His finger on, and give Him permission to deal with it.
Say this out loud
“I let God's Word correct me. I am secure in His love, so I have nothing to defend.”
