Open your Bible and read 2 Corinthians 1:18-22
“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”
2 Corinthians 1:20 · ESVPeople have made you promises and broken them. That is probably why part of you is still bracing for God to do the same.
He will not. Every promise He has made finds its Yes in Jesus, and Jesus already did the hard part at the cross. God is not deciding whether to be good to you based on this week's performance.
So when you read a promise in Scripture, do not read it as a nice thought for someone else. He said He would never leave you. He said He would finish what He started in you. He said His mercies are new every morning. Those belong to you now, in Christ, not because you are impressive but because you are His.
Find a promise today and put your name in it. Then say amen to it, which simply means let it be so.
