Open your Bible and read Psalm 63:1-8
“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
Psalm 63:1 · ESVThere will be days when you pray and it feels like talking to someone through a closed door. No goosebumps. No sense that anyone is listening. Just your voice in a room. Hear this clearly. That is not evidence that something is wrong with you or that your faith was not real. David wrote this psalm from a wilderness, and the man was after God's own heart.
Dry seasons are not punishment. They are where your love for Him grows past your feelings. Anyone can seek God when the room is electric. Seeking Him when you feel nothing is a different kind of love, and He treasures it.
So keep knocking on the door. Keep showing up at the same time. His presence is not a mood, it is a fact, and He promised to be with you always.
Faithfulness in the dry stretch is worship.
Do this today
Show up at the same place and time you met with God yesterday, even if yesterday felt flat.
Say this out loud
“God is with me whether or not I feel Him. I will seek Him in the dry places too.”
