Open your Bible and read 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
“Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.”
1 Corinthians 15:6 · ESVToday's passage is one of the oldest things in the New Testament. Most scholars, including plenty who do not believe a word of it, agree Paul is quoting a summary that was already circulating within a few years of the crucifixion. Not centuries. Years.
And look at how it is written. Named individuals. Peter. James, who was Jesus' own brother and had not believed Him before. Then a crowd of more than five hundred, with a note that most of them are still alive.
That last detail is a strange thing to include in a legend. It is an open invitation to go check. Legends usually place their witnesses safely out of reach, in another country or another century.
This does not settle it. Groups have been wrong together before. But whatever happened, it produced a large number of people who claimed, early and publicly, that they saw Him alive.

Ask a Christian you know what they would say if someone proved the tomb was not empty.
